It was a twisted Shakespearean night at Bishop's College Auditorium on the 25th and 26th of May 2017, as the Drama Society of Visakha Vidyalaya celebrated their 100 years of legacy by proudly presenting the musical comedy 'Like You Like It'.
It was a twisted Shakespearean night at Bishop's College Auditorium on the 25th and 26th of May 2017, as the Drama Society of Visakha Vidyalaya celebrated their 100 years of legacy by proudly presenting the musical comedy "Like You Like It".
'Like you like it' by Daniel S. Acquisto with Book and Lyrics by Sammy Buck, is a blend of Shakespeare's famous ‘As You Like It’ and John Hughes movies of the 1980s. The play presented by Visakha Vidyalaya, was brought to life by the extensive zeal and dedication put out by the Director Chalana Wijesuriya, Music and Vocal by Dmitri Gunatilake, Choreography by Shonaka Ranatunga and the young and energetic cast of Visakha Vidyalaya. All the world was a Mall in the drama presented collaborating in a special arrangement with Playscripts INC.
The drama was sponsored by Official Print Media Partners the Sunday Times and Daily Mirror and Xtream Youth as the Official Online Media Partner.
A large crowd packed the auditorium on both days to watch the protagonist of the drama fight to receive her true love by taking the biggest risk of all- being herself. The play as assured, gave a hip sense of humour that it wrapped the audience in the most humorous entertainment.
The play went on, and the spectators locked their eyes on the stage to the last grip with amaze and novelty enraptured by the talents of the casting crew.
