The Senior Prefects’ Guild (2024/2025) of Visakha Vidyalaya recently undertook a meaningful Community Service Project aimed at supporting a local Girls’ Development Centre in Colombo. With a strong sense of empathy and leadership, the Senior Prefects organized a series of activities to bring joy and support to the children residing there.
The project included donating essential supplies such as clothing, school materials, hygiene products, dry rations and many more to ensure the well-being and comfort of the girls. In addition, the Senior Prefects spent quality time engaging with the children through interactive activities, educational games and workshops, fostering a sense of hope, encouragement and empowerment.
This initiative not only reflected the Prefects’ commitment to community welfare but also served as a reminder of the importance of compassion, teamwork and social responsibility in shaping a better future for all ! The project was a true testament to the values of Visakha Vidyalaya, where leadership is not just about authority but about uplifting and supporting those in need!
Heartfelt gratitude to dear Madam Principal Mrs. Manomi Senevirathne, Deputy Principal Mrs. Dulani Priyadarshani and to the Teacher-in-Charge of the Senior Prefects’ Guild Mrs. Preeni Dias for the unwavering support and encouragement given throughout this initiative. Their guidance and leadership were invaluable in helping to bring this project to life.
Sincere thanks also goes to all the Parents of the Senior Prefects, whose continuous support and understanding played a crucial role in enabling their children to participate in this meaningful project.
The unwavering dedication of the Senior Prefects’ Guild (2024/2025) of Visakha Vidyalaya has also been instrumental in making this worthy endeavor a true success!
