Amaranthine 2018 - The Annual English Day of Visakha Vidyalaya

The Annual English Day Of Visakha Vidyalaya 'Amaranthine 2018' was held on the 6th of March 2018 at the Jeremias Dias Hall from 2.30pm onwards .
The function celebrated the amaranthine of the English language and literature and it's immortality as a self updating global language. Dr.Harshana Rambukwella who is the Senior Lecturer at the Postgraduate Institute of English of The Open University of Sri Lanka lighted the 'Amaranthine 2018' as the Chief Guest. The CELTA Trainer and English Language Teaching Projects Manager at British Council Colombo Dr.Lesley Dick graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The well organized event gave the feeling of immortality through out the function with dramas, songs and dances blending well together.Works of well known dramatists, poets and writers of all eras including William Shakespeare, Emily Bronte, Jane Austen and many more were appreciated and discuss. The event which continued with the theme of 'Never ending, Everlasting' promoted the English language within the students and uplifted the favour in the girls towards the language.
