The Past Pupil’s Association of St. Bridget’s Convent, Colombo organized a spontaneous fest of Motor Rally & Fun Fair on the 5th of March 2017 at the St. Bridget’s Primary Grounds.
Pumping up the ordinary sleepy Sunday mornings, the ultimate revolution commenced at 9am with the roaring of engines at the school’s primary grounds. The rally was steered with many activities for motor vehicles for which more than fifty vehicles flung into the rally to show off the skills of the intrepid drivers. Each vehicle contained a driver and a navigator as the contestants of the competition. Both cars and contestants were to be glamorously decorated and dressed for the fun filled day.
Where there is fashion and beauty, there is fun. The Bridgetine Motor Rally awarded team no.26 led by Geethanjali as the ‘Best Dressed Crew’. It’s a never ending battle of making your car better both in power and looks. The rally vehicles appeared decorated as alluring as its crews, resulting the judges to put strenuous effort to select the best decorated vehicle. After much difficulty, No.29 vehicle owned by Shayanika was crowed as the ‘Best Decorated Vehicle’. Other Awardees of the event were No. 2’s Driver Upeka Wimalaratne and Navigator Habeera Lafir, No. 21’s Driver Kanchana De Zoysa and Navigator Aindrini Ranmuthugala, No. 22’s Driver Dilani Yatawaka and Navigator Rishda Zarook, No. 31’s Driver Randhika Wijesena and Navigator Manushi Gamage , No. 32’s Driver Arshad Dole and Navigator Akri Amir and also No. 49 Driven by Ishraq Wahab and Navigatored by Susana Wahab.
The fabulous fun fair initiated minutes after the motor rally, multiplying the excitement and giving a rest to cool down the heated engines. The fair was lighted with numerous stalls of various items such as clothing, games, accessories, etc. The mouthwatering food stalls were to be taken on a serious note for its great taste. The Bridgetians enthusiastically enjoyed the sunny weather dallying around with their girl squads.
