'Geethma' - an exclusive musical experience, rendered by the talented young individuals of Nalanda College, was staged at the BMICH on the 5th of May 2017. The spectators experienced a variety of music, which represented a number of musical disciplines throughout the world. The concert concluded successfully by the collective effort of the Principal, Academic staff, Students as well as Parents.
'Geethma' - an exclusive musical experience, rendered by the talented young individuals of Nalanda College, was staged at the BMICH on the 5th of May 2017.
Over 350 students performed in various events including 63 students in the Orchestra, which was featured throughout the concert by providing music. The Orchestra was trained by the veteran Saxophonist and musician, also the Master in charge, Mr. Jayantha Dissanayake, while the other teachers of the aesthetic units joined in training the other students. As a special segment, a set of songs owned by the late musician, Dr. Pandith Amaradeva, were sung by students, as a tribute to his contribution to develop the field of music in Sri Lanka. His beloved wife, Mrs. Wimala Amaradeva witnessed the concert as the Chief guest. Also the Dean of the faculty of Music,University of Visual and Performing Arts, Mr. Kolitha Bhanu Dissanayake arrived as the Guest of honour.
