The 14th edition of the great battle between Ladies' College and Musaeus College came to an end, by crowning the rowing team of Musaeus College, with a win of 27-25 as the champions of the grand Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy 2017.
The 14th edition of the great battle between Ladies' College and Musaeus College came to an end, by crowning the rowing team of Musaeus College, with a win of 27-25 as the champions of the grand Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy 2017.
Ladies’ College vs Musaeus College Regatta which was held on the 7th of October 2017 from 1pm onwards at the Colombo Rowing Club, commenced as a brilliant start for Musaeus College with Maedhani De Alwis beating Anelka Karunarathne in the B sculls race.
Musaeus College successfully won both A pair and B pair events with time durations of 4.02 minutes to 4.15 minutes and 4.15 minutes to 4.27 minutes respectively. Ladies' College secured the victory of the A four race and C four race while the opposition won the B four race with an excellent timing of 4.01 minutes.
The Old girls fours race was yet again won by this year's champions Musaeus College with a great timing of 4.40 minutes to 5.09 minutes.
Ishara Abbey, the most experienced rower for Ladies’ secured a new record in the A scull event as she beat Binali De Alwis and also renewed her own existing record with the Ladies' Vice Captain Nihara Waravita on the A double sculls with a timing of 4.17 minutes to 4.25 minutes.
