March was everything about big match fever and street parades, yet not thousand parades could sum up to the most awaited parade of D. S Senanayake College. The Dons of the Battle of Golds presented “Ralphs 2017’ on the 25th of March 2017 commencing from their Alma Mater D.S Senanayake College.
The massive parade proceeded filling Horton Place then the busiest junction of Borella with D.S roars and into the P. Sara Oval Grounds to meet their opponent brothers of Mahanama for a true Battle of Golds.
Ralphs was adorned with the latest ‘favourite in town’ the Mini Coopers, extravagant die hard vehicles such as Subaru, Audi, BMWs while the mighty Pradros and Defenders owned the roads for the Senanayakians to cheer the college pride. Fun and thrill was never missed with the stupendous EDM trucks tingling the hips to shake and toes to dance.
Spectators attention was entirely dragged into the memes held up by the lads with lines cooler than dialogues of comedy movies. Shout out to them script writers, you made our whole 2017.
All these years it was just one parade. Yet this time although it was unofficial, the boys gathered in massive numbers and went on three parades throughout the day.
The college celebrating its golden jubilee this year stunned the streets better than all; reminding Colombo once again that they need no centuries to become the Kings. This year’s parade depicted not only the vehicles and entertainment Senanayakians present, but most importantly the unity and the brotherhood they bleed inside. This year the boys paid off double the energy and courage fighting all obstacles than any other year, to achieve this amazing parade.
