The Annual Foreign Language day of Devi Balika Vidyalaya held on the 7th February 2019, was a spectacular event, that brought together the beauty, the culture and the vibrance of many nations. The event was organized by the Foreign Language club of the school, and this was the third consecutive year that it was held.
'Language is the source of connection, language makes one closer to another'
The Annual Foreign Language day of Devi Balika Vidyalaya held on the 7th February 2019, was a spectacular event, that brought together the beauty, the culture and the vibrance of many nations. The event was organized by the Foreign Language club of the school, and this was the third consecutive year that it was held.
The event took place in the school main hall and was graced by the presence of the chief guest Prof.Neelakshi Premawardena who was also a past pupil of Devi Balika.
The beauty of a diverse array of languages, were portrayed through the event. The students who study Japanese, French, German, Hindi, Chinese and Korean each represented the language through the most breathtaking dances, dramas and songs. The audience consisted of students from many schools and special guests who represented each country from above mentioned.
Certificates and medals were presented to the students who excelled in language day competitions held in 2018.
How grateful should one be, to be born in a country which consists of many nationalities, how grateful should we be, to be able to explore the beauty of every culture, to be able to touch the hearts of the whole universe through this amazing source, 'language'.
