Rock U 2017 - The Untold Story of Two Rock Titans

Heavy Metal seized the owl light of Vihara Maha Devi Open Theatre on the 8th of April 2017 from 7pm onwards with the commencement of the most anticipated metal concert ‘RockU 2017’. The first ever concert of two legendary rock artists on the same stage, was a heaven call to revitalize the rock tumultuous and work the head bangs.
Heavy Metal seized the owl light of Vihara Maha Devi Open Theatre on the 8th of April 2017 from 7pm onwards with the commencement of the most anticipated metal concert ‘RockU 2017’. The first ever concert of two legendary rock artists on the same stage, was a heaven call to revitalize the rock tumultuous and work the head bangs.
The event featuring two most renowned and internationally recognized Sri Lankan Rock Artists Indrachapa Liyanage and Chithral Somapala, flooded with excited oodles of crowd even before the gates open. The crowd went loud and wild as the stars took the stage to present their top listed singles. Indrachapa LIyanage who’s main raison d'être has been to create a very own Sri Lankan Identity rock style, stimulated the crowd’s zest with all time favourites such as Sinhayo, Ginidal, Irunu Aththatu and many more from his album ‘Abinishkramanaya’. The hard rock and heavy metal vocalist who procured to work with myriads of European Bands, Chithral Somapala hypnotized the theatre with music boosting up all the feelings within. Commonly know by the name‘Chity’, made the crowd sing along to his famous hits of Nadee Ganga, Miringuwa Parada, Dabulugale and many more.
RockU was successfully presented by Ahasa Media Works and was powered by ‘8 Man Team’. The concert producer was Ovinto with Xtream Youth as the Official Social Media and Photography Partner. RockU achieved to be a night well spent with the best of metal vibes and memories. Kudos to the dedicated organizers, the two legendary rock artists and the amazingly supportive crowd for wrapping up a concert beyond divinity.
