Sri Lanka Model United Nations 2019, the 12th Session final 2 days, held on 4th & 5th of October 2019 from 8AM onwards at BMICH, Colombo. The two Official Practice Debates(PD) was held on the 21st and 28th of September 2019 and the final and most anticipated Main workshop was held on the 14th of September 2019 at St Thomas' College Mount Lavinia.
The two Official Practice Debates(PD)
The two Official Practice Debates(PD) of the 12th Session of Sri Lanka Model United Nations was held on the 21st and 28th of September 2019 at the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT).
Delegates from around the country attended the PDs and prepped well for conference. They were able to meet their respective head tables and fellow committee members as well. The novice delegates were given a sneak peak as to what the conference would be through the successful debate sessions.
The International Press Corps ( IPC ) Journalists who attended the PDs gained much practice and guidance on composing articles fitting to their respective News Agency Mandates. Additionally the event was also attended by the enthusiastic Administrative Staff who assisted the Executive Committee in making the PDs a success.
The two PDs were an essential and successful introduction to the conference that will be held on the 5th and 6th of October 2019

Main workshop
After a series of delegate workshops , the final and most anticipated Main workshop for the 12th Session of Sri Lanka Model United Nations was held on the 14th of September at St Thomas' College Mount Lavinia.
Delegates who attended the workshop were briefed on Committee Topics and Procedure and was also given the opportunity to solve any related doubts they had. The Executive committee took this opportunity to conduct a few Debate sessions on mock topics to familiarize the delegates with the MUN setting.
A workshop on journalism for the International Press Corps was also held parallel to this. Ms. Roel Raymond conducted an extremely informative and interactive workshop for the delegates while sharing her knowledge and experience as a renowned journalist, News Analytic and Editor for many years.
The Main Workshop being the most important event organized by the Outreach Team concluded with much success.

Final Day - 1 & 2
The 12th session of Sri Lanka Model United Nations was held on the 5th and 6th of October 2019 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, Colombo.
Over 600 delegates from all corners of the country gathered to debate and find solutions to issues ranging from National Security , Human rights and Health adverses.
The opening ceremony of SLMUN 2019 took place on the 5th of October 2019 with the Chief Guest Professor Haremdra Silva gracing the event with an informative session on the adverse effects of technology on sexuality and youth involvement in current issues that the world is facing.
The closing ceremony of SLMUN 2019 was held on the 6th of October 2019 where the delegates were awarded for their brilliant performance at the debates.
With the central theme of “Youth Activism and Volunteerism” the Executive Commitee of SLMUN 2019 aimed to engage the youth of Sri Lanka in the debate of finding solution to these issues and one would have witnessed the smooth execution of this.
