Janashakthi Appathon Challengers for Grand Finale

Janashakthi Full Option Appathon Challenge which captured the innovative minds of the youth of Sri Lanka in a short period of time held its second workshop for the selected 20 teams at Cinnamon Grand Hotel on 1st of October 2016.
Janashakthi Full Option Appathon Challenge which captured the innovative minds of the youth of Sri Lanka in a short period of time held its second workshop for the selected 20 teams at Cinnamon Grand Hotel on 1st of October 2016.
Presentations containing exciting and innovative ideas and proposals for mobile applications on solutions for the unsolved daily problem of traffic were submitted by the twenty teams before the select board at the event.
The teams competed with each other with the intention of making it to the top five teams who will be on the Grand Finale stage on October 28, competing for a Rs. 1 million prize by proposing and developing apps.
The presentations for mobile applications were based on the initial theme of solutions for poor traffic management.
Prior to the October 1st Workshop, the first workshop was held on September 3 at Trace City, Colombo. The first workshop was led by experts from the Information Technology field in order to support the teams to outshine in their proposals and projects by raising awareness.
The 20 teams that submitted their proposals had already gained necessary guidance and mentorship from the workshops.
However, a few days ago, the management of the Janashakthi Full Option Appathon Challenge announced the final teams that will stand out for a prize of Rs. 1 million in Grand Finales.
The names of the final teams are:
* 'WinterRise'
* ‘Parallax’
* ‘InLaws’
* 'WhileLoop'
* 'FourLoop'
Initially, only 75 teams were supposed to be selected for the next stage of the challenge.
As a result of the huge turn up in participants, the organizers of the competition decided to allow the participation of a 100 teams.
On the 3rd of September, the 100 selected teams attended in the first workshop at Trace Expert City, Colombo.
While wishing good luck for the members of the final five teams, let’s await for the most exciting and promising challenge on October 28.
