CodeSprint 8, Sri Lanka's premier startup competition and youth entrepreneurship incubator, concluded with a grand finale at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo on June 22nd. Organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the Informatics Institute of Technology in collaboration with the IEEE Women in Engineering affinity group of IIT and the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter at IIT, this event marked the peak of a rigorous journey for aspiring undergraduates from across Sri Lanka.
CodeSprint 8, Sri Lanka's premier startup competition and youth entrepreneurship incubator, concluded with a grand finale at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo on June 22nd. Organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the Informatics Institute of Technology in collaboration with the IEEE Women in Engineering affinity group of IIT and the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter at IIT, this event marked the peak of a rigorous journey for aspiring undergraduates from across Sri Lanka.
The event garnered support from over 27 prestigious companies, making it the most well-funded event of its kind. Drawing a significant audience of over 2500 delegates, CodeSprint 8 featured 525 teams from 22 universities, showcasing 450+ innovative projects set to revolutionize tech entrepreneurship. Participants exhibited remarkable passion and creativity in technology and startup ventures throughout the competition.
After intense competition among 525 exceptional teams across three phases, industry professionals selected the top 10 finalists based on their outstanding work at each stage. The grand finale, attended by esteemed leaders from the tech industry, was an exhilarating celebration of talent and innovation. CodeSprint 8 awarded cash prizes totalling over Rs 500,000 to the best startup projects and provided a platform for investors to connect with them.
This memorable journey highlighted the incredible skills and collaborative spirit of the participants, showcasing the pivotal role of nurturing young talent for Sri Lanka's future in tech entrepreneurship.
