The Sinhala Tamil New Year Festival of KDU was held on the 6th of April 2017 at Kotelawala Defence University premises with the participation of presently schooling students, cadets, their beloved families and the administration staff.
The fest was garnished with the best of everything. The aroma of milk rice, kokis and sweetmeat captured the air making all taste buds tingle. The most amusing games of Kotta Pora, Spoon race, Tug war etc unique to the Sinhala Tamil New Year were arranged in the premises, for both young & old to romp. Engaging in these games created much fun and laughter and also highly bonded the scholars belonging to various schemes of Law, Management, Logistic and Medicine, especially within the freshers. It was not only the mellow call of the seasonal Cuckoo bird which was heard at the KDU premises, but also the vibrating beats of the traditional drums and the New Year songs sung by the melodious young vocals.
Cadets who devote one fourth of their time for military training at KDU, were privileged to engage in fun filled new year celebrations with not only their fellow scholars but also with their beloved families whom they badly miss due to training schedules. There was much jollity and glee throughout the fest for Xtream Youth to capture abundant smiles and chortles.
