'Work together & win together'
GO challenge 2019 was held in Hatton, on the 10th of March 2019.
Sri Lanka is full of energy, full of anticipation and so full of life! And what's more exciting than 216 youngsters aged 15-26 getting together to face a challenge for a lifetime!
We Lanka is an initiative by search for Common Ground to unite the Sri Lankan youth, despite social prejudice, political and cultural differences. We Lanka aims to prove strength in diversity where together we can accomplish so much more. “no one walks the walk aloneâ€
The youngsters were teamed up into 54 teams. 4 per each team, consisting of a minimum of one female in each group. The teams were then given 7 challenges such as History challenge, food challenge, physical challenge etc. The challenges were to be finished in 2 hours and 10 minutes. The teams were nothing but energy that day, and faced the challenges as if they have known each other all their lives! This brought out the message, that our beautiful mother Lanka, is a safe haven, for all humans, despite their skin colour or which religion they believe in. And together, we realize that we all share the same blood, as a nation, as a force.
Even though many challenge programs for the youth have been organized in Colombo, this is the first time a challenge program has been held for the youth in the up country. The amazing program was fully organized by Fordyce youth club and SWART volunteers.
