This year, for the first time in Sri Lanka a Ballroom Dance Championship of this nature will be held in a sport complex and will consist of more than 80 dance couples from leading Ballroom Dance Schools around the Country, competing in over 28 events.
Four International adjudicators will be invited for this event from Europe and Asia
This would be a significant change from the usual norm where Ballroom Dance championships are held in hotels making accessibility to a limited segment of society.
Ballroom dancing is a recognized Olympic Sport and is one of the events held this year at the Asian Games in Korea. We feel the change would have a great impact in promoting the sport to all segments of society.
