A collection of children's songs, Ulpatha audio CD which was created by Ranara Academy, has been launched 27th September 2013 at the Foundation Institute of Sri Lanka with the presence of artists, guests, principals and teachers of invited schools and public, were interested.
A collection of children's songs, Ulpatha audio CD which was created by Ranara Academy, has been launched 27th September 2013 at the Foundation Institute of Sri Lanka with the presence of artists, guests, principals and teachers of invited schools and public, were interested.
The first CD was presented to Visharada Nanda Malini and she generously shared her thoughts and experience in children’s productions and how the composer and the music directress of all twelve songs contained, Mrs. Thanuja Bandula known to her is. A lyricist, a retired administrative officer, an environmentalist and a former Ambassador Mr. Sunil Sarath Perera addressed the gathering about the importance of the art of children’s songs, history of the evolution and how it should be with a whole lot of examples while admiring the effort of Ranara Academy. Professor Sarath Wijesooriya shared his opinion and views on Ulpatha CD comparing the pathetic situation which children are involved in today’s context. The official website (www.ranaraacademy.com) of Ranara Academy has also been launched at the ceremony by the youngsters of Ranara Academy who shall take over and continue this tremendous effort towards the next generation.The website is designed and created by Rushan Niroshana also an organizing committee member of Ranara Academy. The vote of thanks speech was delivered by the main organizer of Ranara Academy Niranga Wijesooriya reminding the vision and mission of the academy and the responsibility of the adults and parents on their own children. The children of Ranara Academy showed their colours by performing their own songs on stage, admired and commended by the audience. The photographs are being attached.
