Acoustic Collective together with the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School presented the first edition of 'Artists' Evening' on the 15th of July 2017 at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute Lawn in Horton Place featuring dulcet voices who were previously heard only on the radio and SoundCloud.
Acoustic Collective together with the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School presented the first edition of 'Artists' Evening' on the 15th of July 2017 at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute Lawn in Horton Place featuring dulcet voices who were previously heard only on the radio and SoundCloud.
The music lovers who crowded up with the fall of the night, was gifted with a magnificent musical on bean bags and lantern lit bright lights. The lineup of upcoming artists of Asela Perera, Arom Medis, Minesh Dissanayake, Diarra Wickremasinghe, Nelaka Fernando, Rashmi De Silva Wijeyeratne, Aaron Gunawickrema, Joshua Vittachi and Thyasha Dissanayake became the shooting stars of the Saturday night sky as their tunes reverberated up high. The crowd was tranquilized by the tone of soothing covers of famous hits and their very own mellifluous originals. Two original songs titled "Years" and "Chapter One" of Rotaract Achievers' very own, Rtr. Nelaka Fernando was performanced by him which gave a feeling of pride and delight to the fellow Rotaractors within the audience.
"Artists' Evening" which initiated as a project in aid of suicide awareness was partnered by the CCC Foundation – a not for profit charitable organization providing services in the areas of cancer care and mental well being in Sri Lanka.
The spectators truly lived an eve of sublime acoustic music as they walked off from an amazeball wishing the next edition of "Artists' Evening" to come in a twinkling of an eye.
