When will ticket sales begin in Sri Lanka?
Ticket sales will commence in Sri Lanka on 26 March at 0900 local time.
80% of the available ticket capacity will be available to the public on this date.
The remaining tickets will be made available for sale from 1 August. This is to ensure that the opportunity exists for people to buy tickets closer to the event.
How do people buy tickets?
There are 3 ways in which tickets can be purchased:
1. At home online via the ticket sales website. This can be reached by following the links from www.icc-cricket.com. Tickets must be paid for by credit card at the time of purchase.
2. In person at one of the official ticket outlets. There are three outlets, one located in each city hosting men's matches.
The locations are as follows:
Colombo
Thurstan College Cricket Grounds, No. 299, Prof. Stanley Wijesundhara Mw, Colombo 7
Kandy
Level 1 - 7, Kandy City Centre, No 5, Dalada Veediya, Kandy.
Hambantota

Tickets can be paid for either by credit card or cash at the official ticket box offices.
3. In person at one of the Moneygram outlets listed HERE. Tickets can be paid for in cash only.
Online transactions may be made in Sri Lankan rupees or US$. All such transactions will incur a small card processing fee.
Prices of tickets from official box offices and Moneygram outlets in Sri Lanka are fixed at an exchange rate of LKR110 to US$1. All payments in cash for tickets must be in Sri Lankan rupees.
Tickets can also be obtained from official tour and travel partners as part of an official tour and travel programme. Details of the officially licensed tour and travel partners can be found at www.icctravel.net
If the operator you are considering is not listed here you run the risk of your ticket being invalidated and access to matches denied.
Do tickets go on sale at the same time overseas as they do in the Sri Lanka?
No. There is an exclusive window for the Sri Lankan public to buy tickets online or in person for 4 days from 26-29 March inclusive. Sales for the global public will commence online from 30 March at 0900 GMT.
How many tickets can I buy?
There is a limit of 6 tickets that any person can purchase for any group stage match and a limit of 4 tickets per person for super 8 match days, the semi finals and final.
Can I buy the tickets early on the internet?
Tickets go on sale at the same time whether via Internet, official box office or via certain Moneygram retail outlets.
Will any ticket categories be sold out in March?
No. There is a second phase of ticket sales which will start on 1 August when further tickets to all matches in all ticket categories will be released for sale.
I have tried to buy tickets on the first day of sales but see the message ?temporarily unavailable.' What does this mean?
This means that at the current time the number of tickets you requested are not available for purchase for the match / ticket category that you selected. It does not mean that tickets have sold out.
You can do one of the following:
Try to buy a lesser number of tickets
Select a different ticket category
Try again on 1 August when the final phase of ticket sales will start.
