Well, the naughty trouble makers in the back of the classes always come up shining! This fair little girl has also been that kind in her school age and she has turned that dynamic vigor to the career of singing and that made her to the finals in the TNL Onstage 2011. Here’s a little peep to the world of Shehara, in her words, a happy, hyper, tiny ball of energy.
So, Shehara, shall we begin with a little introduction about you ?
I'm a happy, hyper, tiny ball of energy. A huge admirer of comic books, anime & most importantly, Metal music. Oh, and I LOVE junk food & CHOCOLATE.
Any nick name ?
"Manamana" & "Batti" is what they call me.
How did you make your way into this field ?
I started singing when I was a kid; sang at school and later joined the HFC School Choir. After school, I took part in TNL Onstage, in which I emerged as one of the Finalist.
So, next I’m going to ask you about your academic side. How far have you studied? Tell us about your school life...
I studied at Holy Family Convent, Colombo 04 and sat for my A/Ls in 2010. School was... Well, exciting! Some of The best years of my life were spent when I was back in school and I have to admit, I was probably The most exasperating student in the eyes of School Prefects. I was always one of the naughty ones in class. I still remember how I used to spend boring lessons, either writing crazy poems or drawing pictures and also singing Opera with my best friend, making all the Oldies sound like they've been remixed.
Most of my friends would still call me the "Card Maker" I'm sure while others would simply remember me as the "short, fair girl who never clipped her fringe or plaited her hair".
Any fashion trends you usually like to follow? We’d love to know your views on that side.
Not really. Although, I do tend to wear jeans or short skirts & T-Shirts most of the time. "Pink is my (NOT) my favorite color!!!" but, I apparently, look good in it. Black wrist bands have been my 'thing' since the seventh grade.
You’re an artist of this beautiful island of Sri Lanka. Could we know your attitude towards your motherland?
I was born in Sri Lanka; been here my entire life. Being in the music industry here comes with its Negatives AND Positives but, I'm proud to be Sri Lankan. Looking forward to adding a 'touch of Sri Lanka' in the music I aspire to put out.
What do you normally do when you get a leisure time?
Read books, play games, write and listen to music and hang out with the people I care about and love the most.
What is the most unforgettable incident in your life?
TNL Onstage 2011, Semi Finals; when the crowd clicked and clapped to my Original 'Loved For Eternity' when I had to sing it acapella.
Here’s our favorite question which your fans also be longing for you answer.Have you got yourself a soul mate yet and what’s your view on the subject of love?
I'm proud to say I have and it's been that way for quite some time now. As for "Love", I say it's the fuel that helps run a relationship. If you love someone, Trust, Patience and Forgiveness automatically exist.
You’re still a young girl, yet you were able to get on to this huge field of music.Could we know the secret behind your success?
No secret; just blessed. Also blessed with The best friends and motivators.
Have you got any special role model you follow and would like to imitate?
Tarja Turunen would be it. I can't sing the way she does but, I've always been greatly inspired by her.
Do you use any working out schedule to maintain your figure? Any advices can you give to your fans regarding food?
"Food, Glorious Food!!!" is the only thing running through my mind right now. I love food. Junk food owns! But, yes, I do cycle and work out occasionally.
What is the saddest incident you have faced so far?
Watching a mother rat finding it hard to take its last few breaths and not being able to do anything about it. It sounds weird but, dude, it was sad! I despise not being able to do anything when others are in trouble.
Your fans will love to know about your future ambitions.
Well, a video for "Broken Wings" is what everyone should be looking out for. I'm also hoping to put out an EP soon or maybe even an entire album. *wink wink* Looking forward to performing at more gigs too.
Are you satisfied with your journey in this field so far?
So far - Yes! It's been great.
You can leave a special message to your fans now.

I may not know some of you personally but, I'm ever so grateful and appreciative about the fact that you guys took the time to get to know me and my music. Please do keep listening! Anything you want to say to the new comers to this field?
Don't be afraid to get out there and show 'em what you've got! Better now than never; trust me, you don't wanna regret not (at least) trying it.
