Alethea Prize Day 2012/2013 was a red letter day in the lives of all high achievers and prize winners this year as it coincided with the 85th anniversary celebrations of the school. The event was held at the Bishop’s College Auditorium on October 11, 2013 with many distinguished guests gracing the occasion. His Excellency, Mr. Hussain Shihab, High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka & Australia & Ambassador to the Philippines was the chief guest while the guest of honour was Mr. Pradeep Carvalho Head of Corporate Communication – Sales and Marketing Etisalat, Sri Lanka who incidentally is a past pupil of Alethea.
The formal occasion was interspersed with a breathtaking traditional dance performance trained by renowned artist Upuli Panibaratha and Muddrika Swarnathileka’s scintillating western dance. The Alethean dance troupe rose to the occasion and held the audience spellbound with their performance. Talented dance teacher Janardari Salgado had a young bevy of dancers perform a lovely beautiful peacock dance. Other times included a skit by the primary grade students and a laudable performance by the Alethean Choir. Students received academic prizes along with colours in sports and achievements in non academic activities.
