This sweet and sexy lass Sashini is one of those people who have made music, their way of expressing themselves. While completing her degree on JAVA, she dedicates all her free time to create a new dimension of music. Get ready for an interview with the up coming artist Sashini Iddamalgoda.
So, Sashini, Let's start with a short and sweet introduction about yourself?
Yep, sure! I’m Sashini Iddamalgoda. Well, I’m a simple and down to earth kind of a girl who has made music her hobby.
Do you use a special stage name in the industy? Any nick name your fellows call you?
Shashi is what many call me and some just use the name Sashini itself. I was to come to field as Sashi but then I decided that Sashini is better. So I’m going to continue using that name.
How did you enter this vast industry of music?
Well, I started singing even from my youngest years like when I was in Grade 1, 2, 3 or so. I’ve attended to those singing competition that were held in the Sunday school and was a member of the school choir too. I started a little music band with some girls around my area just being led by the craziness we had on music. I performed as the drummer in it for sometime for I had this big craving for playing drums. I was like in Grade 8 or 9 at that time. I’ve studied on key board playing too for sometime. After all these experiences I had in the school, with all the competitions I’ve attended, and the practice I got in the Sunday school, I began to develop a desire on composing a song of my own. Then through the help of Samee Rathnayake (Actor) and his son Dilan Rathnayaka I was able to compose my first song. So the result of that journey is the releasing of that so before two months from now. And at the last but not least I’ll add to this that I’ve studied audio engineering in the studio of Aruna Lian.
Wow! That’s a really good description on how you joined this field Sachini. So, next I’m going to ask you about your academic side. How far have you studied?
At the moment I’m doing a degree on Java at IJTS hoping to get my degree on the next year.
Do you love to follow new fashion trends in your life? If yes, could we know the styles you prefer most?
Of cause I follow new fashions. But I’m not that my crazed at it doing it too much. I love wearing simple. In the field I’d like to be myself a unique icon to my fans in fashion, so I do care about it. But it is important to me that I do them in a way that suits me no damaging my image.
As an artist in this beautiful small island of Sri Lanka, what are your atitudes towards your motherland? What do you think?
For me, Sri Lanka is the best place in the whole world. Even the climate is very comfortable and the environment and people also are good.
How do you spend your leisure time?
I mostly get dipped in music, singing. I sing and dance with the cute kids of my brother. I serf the net or think about my future fans. Other than that I like reading books on positive thinking. I’m really interested in that.
What is the most unforgettable incident in your life?
There are loads to be honest. But I specially remember the day I got the 1st place from a singing competition when I was in grade 1. That was the biggest experience for my on singing at that time, I was so happy that day that tears came to my eyes. The feeling I got when my first song was released on Yfm is also unforgettable.
What do you think about love & tell us about your soul mate ;)
Well, I don’t have a ‘soul mate’ yet. But in speaking about love in general, it is a really beautiful feeling. Although I haven’t experienced love in from a boy friend I get it so much from my family; from my sisters, brothers, parents and from my loving friends. I’m in love with love and I love the people who truly love. I accept love for myself if it won’t be a trouble to me.
You’re still a young girl, yet you were able to get on to this huge field of music. Could we know the secret behind your success?
It’s my self confidence and the attitude of never to go down. And also my mother and my family were a big strength to me including y two cousins Sadara and Raithra.
Who is your role model ? & are you imitating someone?
In the side of voice I follow Shakira. I love the techniques she uses. Her voice is the special feature I like more than the image. Then about the image I like the American singer Shiara and her style.
Do you use any working out schedule to maintain your figure?
Well, I go to a gym regularly and I’m conscious about my food because it is a must for a girl to love herself and her figure.
What is the saddest incident you have faced so far?
There is one incident like that. Though I’m not going to mention it here, I’d like to sad that incident gave me lots of strength to mylife to lead it to the correct path.
Your fans will love to know about your future ambitions.
I have to finish my degree and from the music side I’m hoping to go for a BnS production next. You’ll be able to hear that soon. I hope to make a change in the mucis industry with some several different concepts.
Are you happy with whatever you've achieved so far in life?
Not 100% I would say. But I’m satisfied to a certain extent. It gave me lots of experianse by releasing my first song. By the comments I got from my fans and friends I got enough awareness on the way I should get ready for the comments of both good and bad. Althought I got a bit contentment on the things I’ve done so far, it cannot be said that I’m satisfied 100%, I got a long way to go still.
You can leave a special message to your fans now.
I’d like to ask them to be with me and to comment on my work. It means a lot to me to do new things to them. I love the always, be with me.
