Visakha Vidyalaya badged the candidates of the Student Parliament on 8th of March 2019 from 9.00 a.m onwards at the Jeramias Dias Main Hall.
Visakha Vidyalaya badged the candidates of the Student Parliament on 8th of March 2019 from 9.00 a.m onwards at the Jeramias Dias Main Hall.
The badging ceremony was graced by the Chairman of the Election Commission Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya as the Chief Guest For one of the most awaited events in school calendar.
The newly elected members of the parliament were awarded with their badges by the Chief Guest and Madam Principal Sandamali Aviruppola. 100 students from grade 7 to grade 13 were elected to the student parliament of Visakha Vidyalaya by the results of the election held on 28th of February 2018 at Visakha Vidyalaya.
The candidate Lihini Himara Abeysirigunawardna, who got most number of votes was appointed as the Prime Minister and the second most voted candidate Suvee Wathma Surendra was appointed as the Speaker of the Student Parliament of Visakha Vidyalaya.
The time has come to establish peace and harmony within all races and ethnicities. It’s the time to stop the longing for power and create a governing policy for the people. Taking the issues hazarding the island and world today. The newly elected parliamentary candidates of Visakha Vidyalaya hope to aboard its missile of amity in making Sri Lanka a better place for the next generation.
