Winterlude 2017 - a Christmas Carnival organized by the prefects guild of Gateway College took to the stage on Friday the 8th of December at the college campus at Rajagiriya.
The school shimmered in the blue and silver shades of winter as the families and friends of Gateway gathered to revel in the true spirit of Christmas before parting for the holidays. The stage played host to a wide range of bands, soloists, duets and a highly anticipated performance by Gateway's renown home grown dance group- Unique, which took the crowd by storm, featuring an appearance from yours truly, Mr Claus himself.
Parents patronized the vast collection of food stalls at the food court whilst taking the chance to recount the developments of the year past, teens chose to spend the night dancing away to the resonating tones of the official DJ TrevD, whilst the kids fought for their turn at the bouncers and games, including, the very popular Rodeo Bull. As the second watch of the night arrived the carnival came to its climax with the fireworks display which rendered the sky asunder, accompanied by the gasps of awed spectators following which the crowds said their goodbyes with the age old wish; "Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!"
