Held on the 25th of June at the Taj Samudra from 8 am onwards, IMUN is one of the key International Understanding projects of the club. It not only offers students exposure to global epidemics, it also provides participants the opportunity to hone their public speaking and debating skills in a setting that demands diplomacy and tact.
It wasn’t only that the legendary DiCaprio finally won his first Oscar over 25 years into his film career. It was that he used this iconic moment as the platform for bringing to light the severity of a long standing global issue, that made it truly outstanding.
“Climate change is real. It is happening right now”.
Similar to Leo, many celebrities and international personalities have taken advantage of their prestige to make the world aware of this proliferative concern that is climate change. Climate change excludes no one in its wake and remains an issue common to all, regardless of class or creed.
In this light, climate change was the topic at hand set by the Interact Club of D. S. Senanayake College at the renowned Interact Model United Nations 2016. Stepping into its fourth consecutive year, interactors representing leading schools in the interact district gathered to discuss the finer details of the global concern; its causes, vices and everything in between.
