"Emerging Young Leader Award, EYLA - Generation 2, was declared officially open at a colorful event organized by the Emerging Young Leaders Association and National Youth Services Council, held yesterday, 30th August 2012 at Hotel Taj Samudra.

EYLA Generation 1, saw the unveiling of youth leaders from every corner of the island. Taking the legacy they were awarded with forward, the final 100 of last year's program are now heading EYLA Generation 2, continue on the path of discovering young leaders.

With zeal of greatness, EYLA Generation 2 had a tremendous start at the opening ceremony, which was chaired by Hon Dullus Alahapperuma, Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development. Mr. Mohan Lal Grero, Monitoring Member of Parliament - Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development; Mr. K.A. Thilakarathne, Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development; Mr. Lalith Piyum Perera (Attorney-at-Law), Chairman/Director General, National Youth Services Council and Heads of other institutions under the Ministry graced this occasion.
